:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Momof3 -- Philpott Speaks My Language : I ordered this book to review it on my blog. Plus, it sounded like a book that spoke my language! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from A66eyroad -- So worth the wait! : I have been waiting for this book for so long, since I first read about it on Facebook. Now it seems almost unreal that I’m holding it in my hands! After having read and been touched so personally by Sarah’s second book, “Loved Baby,” I just didn’t know how she could possibly hit the mark again, but she certainly has! I wish I could buy a copy for every single person I know. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Traca91 -- Relatable, Enjoyable, and Inspiring : I am blessed to have been able to read an advanced copy of this book, and want to share my open and honest review with you. When reading books, it is important to me that they not only have a good story line, but that I can also relate to them. With this book, Sarah has done a wonderful job with both of these things. Her writing style is easy to follow and throughout this book I've been able to relate to the story line. She had me laughing, crying, nodding my head in agreement, and caused me to realize some areas where I need to really open up my heart. Areas like giving grace, accepting grace when its given to me, offer love before anger, and listen without judgement. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from mikki925 -- Humor, peace and growth : I haven’t read all of this book yet. I got it in October and I am one of those people who has to match things - I can’t read devotionals for January and February in October! Heaven forbid! But I have now read all of October and skimmed over some of the recipes and read all the section on Southern sayings (“Say What?” That liked to have tickled me to death, lol!). I LOVE it so far, and look forward to savoring every season’s chapters. Do you need to be Southern to enjoy this? Live on a farm? Live in the country, even? Absolutely not. The truths found in here are universal, even if the stories are not. We may not all literally have a pond for a baby to fall into…but metaphorically, we do. In this book you will find a lot of humor (hey, God definitely has a sense of humor!) and some tears. You’ll find a lot of wisdom. You’ll find peace. And you’ll most definitely grow. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jennifer Thayer Knight -- A Beautiful Devotional With Sweet Recipes : A beautiful devotional that took me back to my southern roots. Sarah's storytelling made me feel like I was right there on the farm with her. She also shares some yummy recipes, ways to overcome life's challenges, as well as encouraging words for each season of the year. This is a book I will refer back to again and again. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jenny -- Relatable for all women : The Growing Season is relatable for women in any walk or season of life. With grace, grit, and a healthy dose of humor, Sarah encourages us all with lessons in faith from her life on the farm. The recipes and activities included in the book are an added bonus! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Scott -- A growing season by my cousin Sarah Phillpott : Sarah has written this book quite elegantly but simple to read. It explores what its like growing up on a farm or in the country. It can be simple but complicated, funny but sincere at times. Yet you can look through her eyes or through the eyes of her family. It brings back memories of childhood and sometimes current situations in my life. It helps us to appreciate our own blessings and even if you don't believe the same way as us, it's still inspirational, because everyone needs to laugh and be loved! I encourage anyone to buy her book. Read it and even if it's not for you, give it to someone else that might enjoy it! Count your blessings one by one!!!! - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jenn Hand -- Such a beautiful invitation to meet with Jesus and enjoy the farm : I loved this book so much. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2021 )
